In 1994, the renamed Sany moved to Changsha, the provincial capital, and entered construction machinery manufacturing. Motivated by the goal of "creating a first-class enterprise, bringing up first-class talents and making first-class contributions", Sany gained a firm foothold in China and began to go abroad after gathering enough energy.
In 2002, Sany exported its products to Morocco in Africa for the first time. Since 2006, Sany has accelerated and intensified its overseas investment, and established R&D and manufacturing bases in India, the United States, Germany and Brazil. In 2012, cross-border acquisition of Putzmeister, a German construction machinery giant. From export products, to overseas investment, and then to overseas mergers and acquisitions, SANY has embarked on an internationalization path with its own characteristics in the past 16 years. In 2017, Sany achieved 11.6 billion yuan in international sales revenue, accounting for about 30% of the company's total revenue.
Xiang Wenbo said that Sany does not do opportunist, firmly abandon opportunistic thinking, focus on construction machinery, do not relax, deep cultivation of entities without regret.
Adhering to independent innovation is the foundation of Sany's continuous leapfrog. Sany's R&D investment accounts for about 5% of sales revenue. As of June this year, the company has applied for 12,070 patents and authorized 8,751 patents, ranking first in the industry in terms of cumulative patent applications and authorization.
Relying on innovation, Sany has created a large number of hit products. Sany's 86-meter steel boom pump truck, 200-ton hydraulic excavator, the world's first 3,600ton crawler crane, Asia's first 1,000-ton all-ground crane and other products have laid the foundation for Sany's leading position in the industry.
"Sany's goal is to become a world-class company." Xiang Wenbo introduced that in the future, Sany may no longer be a construction machinery company, but a platform company. Sany will open this platform to the society, share it with the society, and also share social resources.
